Digital Fast

DIGITAL FAST

We see an opportunity to fast from “Digital Devices” as a means to direct our attention and desires to God and actively resist “conforming to the patterns of this world” (Romans 12:2). Join us we seek to rest from digital devices and receive God’s grace of unhurried time with Him.

WHAT IS A DIGITAL FAST

A “Digital Fast” is simply
1) Abstaining from digital devices at the beginning and end of your day
2) Taking one full day to fully rest from all digital devices
3) Deleting social media for one week week

A Digital Fast is a means to rest and direct your attention and desire to God.

We invite you to participate in a “Digital Fast” for at least one week. Start on your own time and use the following page as a guide.

WHY DO WE FAST

One of the main reasons for fasting is to “abstain” (to do without) from something for a certain time period as a means to direct our desires and dependence towards God. This is usually done with food but can also be done with other things in life.

For us, we see an opportunity to fast from “Digital Devices” as a means to direct our attention and desires to God and actively resist “Conforming to the patterns of this world” (Romans 12:2).

This is not to be done out of obligation, guilt or fear but out of love and desire for God. At any point if you make a mistake or lose focus, acknowledge it to God, receive his grace and keep going!
