Children of Grace Sing!

We launched practicing during Sunday School this week and will continue through the performance date.

There is an opportunity for a few kids to be “Special Singers” and sing with just a few others during the songs. Let me know if your child is willing and able to participate in that. *kids interested in being a special singer will have a brief practice at 10am on 11/27 and 12/11, in Rm 6.

LOGISTICS:
2nd SERVICE ATTENDERS: We will be singing at the end of 1st service. So, if you will be attending 2nd service that day, please consider bringing your kids at 9:30 to join in 1st service for singing.  You will pick them up from their normal class at the end of 1st service (approx 10am). Please them check them in like normal at 10:30 for 2nd service.

LYRICS:
MANGER THRONE – Julie Miller

Verse 1: SPECIAL SINGERS
What kind of king would leave his throne in Heaven to make this earth his home?
While men seek fame and great renown, in lowliness our king comes down.

Chorus: ALL
Jesus, Jesus, precious one, how we thank you that you’ve come,
Jesus, Jesus, precious one, a manger throne for God’s own son.

Verse 2: SPECIAL SINGERS
You left the sounds of angels’ praise to come for men with unkind ways,
And, by this baby’s helplessness, the power of nations is laid to rest.

Chorus: ALL
Jesus, Jesus, precious one, how we thank you that you’ve come,
Jesus, Jesus, precious one, a manger throne for God’s own son.

Verse 3: SPECIAL SINGERS
What kind of king would come so small: from glory to a humble stall?
That dirty manger is my heart too; I’ll make it a royal throne for you.

Chorus: ALL
Jesus, Jesus, precious one, how we thank you that you’ve come,
Jesus, Jesus, precious one, a manger throne, a manger throne
My heart is the throne for God’s own son.

HOW COULD IT BE A SILENT NIGHT

Chorus: ALL
Shout, shout!
Go tell it on the mountain!
Praise, praise!
Let no one stop your shoutin’!

Run, run!
Let your feet take flight!
With such good news,
it can’t be a silent night!

Verse 1 – Toddler-2nd Grade
How could it be a silent night
When angels shared the holy birth
And shepherds ran to see the sight
Of God’s own Son who came to earth.

How could it be that all was calm?
A baby on a bed of straw?
The Savior from the prophet’s psalm.
A Savior born, creation’s awe.

Chorus: ALL

Shout, shout!
Go tell it on the mountain!
Praise, praise!
Let no one stop your shoutin’!

Run, run!
Let your feet take flight!
With such good news,
it can’t be a silent night!

Verse 2 – 3rd-5th Grade
If they knew what it was about,
They would have made room in that inn.
Yet men today still shut him out
When he has paid the price for sin.

How can we not know there’s a plan?
How can we not rejoice today?
The Son of God became a man.
He is the life, the truth, the way.

Chorus: ALL
Shout, shout!
Go tell it on the mountain!
Praise, praise!
Let no one stop your shoutin’!

Run, run!
Let your feet take flight!
With such good news,
it can’t be a silent night!
